The other morning I woke up grumpy. I told Kurt to call the nanny to come over for the day. I'm flying to California and going shopping with Jana. As most of you can guess, there is no nanny, and impromptu out of state shopping trips are not exactly in our budget. Some mornings you just wake up and want a change of pace, right? Tell me I'm not the only one.
Later that day as I watched Felicity attempt to do the actions for "itsy bitsy spider" with a big grin on her face, I changed my mind about my day.

I know they are old, but I love these pics of felicity.
I agree with you about wanting a change of pace once in a while. But I'm glad your day got better.
i know EXACTLY what you're talking about.
It would be nice to be able to fly off for a girls trip, and sometimes you need a change of scenery. But I think when it comes right down to it being a mom is the very best job!
sounds about right to me! nannies and private jets...or just enjoying your sweet babies face learning something new.
On Wednesday, I wanted to put a bunch of stamps on Sam's forehead and leave him at the post office. Not really caring where they sent him, and just writing "Return to Sender in 2 weeks". Wouldn't that be nice? Luckily the next day was much better! Can I get in on this nanny/plane combo? Sounds divine!
Oh, my GOSH -- I have those days all the time! I'll be ready to strangle (figuratively, of course) Isabel, then she does something so, so sweet, smiles her amazing smile with her happy eyes, and I've "changed my mind".
Thanks for this sweet reminder!
Maybe I'll just come up there and we can take Felicity shopping with us :) I miss you and that little Keiki! Loves.
It is so nice to know that others moms feel the same way sometimes. It's those little teaching moments in the day that make everything all worth it. I love you Kell! My baby is coming around May 2. I can't believe how fast it has gone by!
I can totally relate. The other day it seemed like Hank just woke up angry and we both had a rotten morning. Midway through the day, Hank says, "I'm sorry I'm having a hard time." Everybody deserves to have a bad day once in awhile...it doesn't make you a bad mom, it makes you a normal mom. Love you.
You are not the only one. I love you Kelli, and i bet your are such a great little mom to Felicity.
Well-spoken, Kelli! And guess what? I LIVE in this sunny state, and I woke up grumpy. I would have traded the nanny for a drill sergeant to make my frown turn upside-down! But soon I was the obnoxious mom again that makes my kids groan in pain as I sing Happy Morning Songs to them. Obnoxious Mom is so much fun--you will get great satisfaction from it someday--but Felicity adores you too much for now!
For a moment there I was a little confused... and yup jealous, but you're right. I wouldn't trade kids for a nanny & jet. Okay, maybe not most of the time. Really I do love them dearly & they make me so, so happy!
