all bottled up

Felicity took her first pumped bottle tonight like a champ, and I mean LIKE A CHAMP! She downed four ounces in approximately five minutes. She didn't even have to think about it. As soon as the bottle grazed her lips, she went to town. Daddy was impressed. Afterwards, she was all smiles. She smiled right up until she spit up on my right leg, then she smiled some more, and then she spit up on my left leg. Gotta love it.

Gordon B. Hinckley
(6/23/10-1/27/08)

Latter-day Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley passed away at his home Sunday evening with his family at his side. He has gone on to be with his dear wife, Marjorie. He served as President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for nearly 13 years. President Hinckley was one of the sweetest and most genuine people ever to walk the face of this earth. He will be sorely missed. He truly is a man of God.

James Christensen

I thought I'd expand the content of this blog to include a little more than just the center of our life, little Felicity.
James Christensen is one of my favorite artists. The picture below, Hold to the Rod, is a recent release of his that Kelli surprised me with on my birthday.

Grubasa!

Felicity paid the doctor a short visit today. They weighed her with her clothes on, and she came in at...9 pounds 9 ounces! Keep on growin', little lady. Kelli is anxiously awaiting the day when Felicity's little bracelets will fit.

Happy First Month!

Felicity turned one month old today. She decided to celebrate by sleeping for six hours straight in her cradle. Hooray! It's strange to think that she has been with us for a month already, but hard to remember what life was like without her. We've never been happier.

P.S. The sea turtle's name is Ted. He was a gift from Grandma Cheryl, and he is named after a delightful bakery on the north shore of Oahu. Maybe we will take Felicity there for her birthday.

Picture Perfect

Our dear friend, Heather Mildenstein, came over to visit Kelli and Felicity today, and we were lucky enough to have her take some more beautiful pictures for us. You may remember that Heather was the one who photographed Kelli while she was still pregnant with Felicity. We don't have a copy of the pictures yet, but you can see them on Heather's blog. We are lucky to have a friend with such talent!

Felicity decided to go with a bit of a punk-rocker face for Aunt Jeanne.
.
As mom was drying her off after a bath, we discovered a new hairdo possibility.

She was definitely enjoying the warm bath, wrapped in a comfort blanket.

Kelli decided to get Felicity dressed up in her pants from Grandma Julie and a sweater from Kathi Kohler for a little photo shoot on the couch.

Hooray! Felicity had a checkup on Friday, and she weighed in at 7 lbs. 14 oz. She is either raising her hands in celebration of the weight gain or signaling a touchdown. Probably the former, since I'm fairly certain our Titans didn't have any TDs today!

Roar! And this is what happened when I tried to remove her binky for a better picture. This look does, however, go very well with the teddy bear outfit that Grandma Cheryl got for her.

Here are a few more pictures of little Felicity. She continues to be an absolute joy. As far as I'm concerned, she could wear a brown paper bag and it would look like high fashion.
Mom caught us taking a little snoozer in that last picture. Just before we took that nap, she said her first word. It was "Dada." Too bad no one was there to hear it except for us.
